| Remember if they cut one defroster line they are buying you a new rear glass and installing it... The shop I used charged $150 to remove all tint from the car. You know that purple stuff that is coming up on the edges? It is 100X harder to get off than the nice metalic thick tint we all get. I was standing about 40 feet away from the install bay and i could hardly breath due to the fumes coming from the inside of my Z. They used a 50/50 mix of mother's amonia and whitewash bleach. It pretty much eats through tint and the glue. Still took them close to an hour to strip the windows. For a well known shop with good tinters they could probably have done 4-5 cars in the amount of time they spent on my one car. It's a volume and liablity business. They quote high for cars that need old tint removed, basicly because they don't want to do it. And after doing a few myself and watching that one shop I don't blame them.
